If you missed the 2025 Walmart Marketplace Summit in August, you need to know what Walmart is rolling out for Marketplace sellers! Here are the highlights from the show:

The message that drove this year’s meeting came down to one word: SPEED!

The online shopper continues to demand speed, and Walmart continues to improve its turnaround time. The company can currently ensure one- to two-day delivery to 95% of US households. By the end of 2025, 95% of US households will be able to receive one-day delivery.
Another point on speed was the online shopper being able to find exactly what they’re looking for quickly. Walmart.com is working to stay competitive in assortment and reported the site has passed half a billion SKUs for the online shopper.
As Walmart.com seeks to add more SKUs, leadership reported that the fastest growing segment of Walmart online shoppers is the higher-income customer. Walmart Marketplace sellers with larger-ticket items were encouraged to take advantage of this rising segment and sell on Marketplace.
Expanding Walmart Fulfillment Services
Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) provides end-to-end logistics for Walmart Marketplace sellers. Through WFS, Walmart will store the seller’s inventory in Walmart fulfillment centers to handle order processing, picking, packing, shipping, and returns. Sellers are charged monthly storage and per-transaction fulfillment fees, with no subscription costs.
Walmart encourages Marketplace Sellers to use WFS. At the summit, it was reported that sellers see a 20% sales increase when using WFS, as Walmart highlights one-to-two day delivery in the product listing.
Walmart also announced incentives and enhancements to help sellers finish the year strong:
Waiving and Lowering Fees for 2025
For current Marketplace Sellers and those onboarding this year, Walmart is incentivizing participation by lowering fees:

- 0% referral fee on all qualifying toys
- 50% referral fee reduction on all qualifying pet supplies
- Up to 100% referral fee reductions on qualifying top-selling items across categories
- Waiving peak storage fees for all suppliers for the remainder of 2025

Multi-Channel Solutions
Walmart understands sellers are doing business across many websites. At the summit, the company highlighted its Multi-Channel Solutions for Marketplace sellers.
Through the Multi-Channel service, WFS will house and ship a Marketplace Seller’s product that they sell on other platforms (Amazon, Wayfair, etc.).
Cross Border Services
WFS is expanding its Cross Border services. Up to this point, WFS has been picking up freight for Marketplace sellers in China.
Walmart announced the new service of picking up freight for sellers in India and Vietnam.
Taking Advantage of Walmart Connect
Walmart Connect is an advertising tool for suppliers. It allows suppliers the ability to promote their products to Walmart customers across omnichannel touchpoints, including in-app, online, and in the physical stores.
The company reported that during peak selling seasons, Walmart Marketplace sellers see 7-times more sales when using Walmart Connect to advertise.
AI Agent for Marketplace Sellers
The Marketplace Summit also highlighted Walmart’s AI super agent “Marty.” Instead of having to use several different AI tools for various tasks, Marty acts as a single, unified interface.
Marty is designed to support Marketplace sellers in onboarding, organizing orders, managing their catalogs, speeding up the campaign setup process, and more.
